Partnership in Regional Development
Superior North CFDC reaches it goals by partnering with stakeholders involved in regional strategic planning and in projects leading to economic diversification, job creation and tourism development.
Our advisory services are available to community development groups and organizations. Our Business Outreach Officers visit each community located on our territory at least once a month and in the meantime they can be reached at the Superior North CFDC’s office, in person, by phone or email.
The non-profit sector is one of the fastest growing sectors in North America right now, and with almost 150,000 registered charities and nonprofits currently operating in Canada, it shows no signs of slowing down. Of course, as more and more organizations are added to the mix, groups must become increasingly creative in the planning and carrying out of their mission. There are several questions that should be considered before you begin the process of starting your own non-profit organization or charity.
Superior North CFDC is providing a link to the Not-For- Profit Incorporator’s Handbook which has been prepared jointly by the Companies and Personal Property Security Branch of the Ministry of Government Services and the Office of the Public Guardian and Trustee for Ontario, Charitable Property Program of the Ministry of the Attorney General.
We are a bilingual organization. Our programs and services are available in both official languages. We facilitate francophones’ participation to the development of our strategic plan and we assist programs, projects and activities liable to support the development of the francophone community located within our catchment area.
Developing entrepreneurship amongst women, youth and First Nations is also one of our goals.
With strategic alliances, with PARO, the CYBF, the Nishnawbe Aski Development Fund for example, or by offering special programming, we participate in capacity building of these target groups.
